A sailors beacon, their lifeline between safe journey and disaster. Scattered across the globe these symbols of our maritime history always capture our eye. Taking on many similar but different forms they are both artful subjects in landscapes and purposeful tools in navigation. In modern history though, they are more the subjects than in years past. Standing proud on the shoreline signaling safe harbor for those around them.
